Cost, application process and exam dates

Cost

The exam fees change every year. In 2026, the fee for part 1 is £749.

It would be useful for you to get an estimate of the whole FRCPath Microbiology expense if you know about part 2 as well. In 2026, it is £1576. This exam is only taken in London, so you have to account for the additional costs of a visa, travel, accommodation, food, and other related expenses. So the whole FRCPath exam will cost you approximately £3000 or more.

On top of that, you must include your travel and other expenses.
